  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup whiskey
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix cubed bread with whisked milk, heavy cream, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Let sit for 10 minutes to soak.
  3. Stir in pecans if desired and transfer to the baking dish.
  4. Bake for about 45–50 minutes until golden brown and set.
