  • 100 g butter
  • 120 g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 roll of puff pastry

  2. Peel and core the apples, then cut them into quarters.
  3. In an ovenproof pan, melt butter and sugar over medium heat until golden caramel forms. Stir in vanilla extract and salt.
  4. Arrange apple quarters in the caramel, rounded side down, and cook for 10–15 minutes until slightly tender.
  5. Roll out puff pastry over the apples and tuck edges inside the pan.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes until the pastry is golden brown.
  7. Cool for 5 minutes before inverting onto a serving plate.
