  • 6 ounces mozzarella pearls (fresh)
  • 1 demi baguette
  • ½ cup basil pesto
  • gel food coloring (black)
  • 12 ounces cherry tomatoes
  • olive oil
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • red pepper flakes
  • fresh basil
  • balsamic vinegar glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Fill a silicone skull mold with mozzarella pearls and bake for 6-7 minutes until melted.
  3. Press the mozzarella into shape and let cool.
  4. Increase oven temperature to 475°F. Cut cherry tomatoes in half, season with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes, then roast for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Slice the baguette and toast in the oven for 8-10 minutes.
  6. Mix basil pesto with black gel food coloring until desired color is achieved.
  7. Assemble bruschetta by spreading black pesto on toasted bread, topping with roasted tomatoes and mozzarella skulls.
  8. Serve drizzled with balsamic glaze and garnished with fresh basil.
