  • 8 oz lo mein noodles (or spaghetti)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the lo mein noodles according to package directions; drain and set aside.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Cook the sliced beef for about 5-7 minutes until browned; remove from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, stir-fry broccoli and onion for 3-4 minutes until softened. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil in a small bowl.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet; pour in the sauce mixture and stir well for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add cooked noodles to the skillet and toss everything together until fully coated.
